Legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson managed a lot of world-class talents during his time in the Old Trafford. Sir Alex Ferguson spent 27 years as the Manchester United boss before he retired at the end of the 2012/13 season. He was appointed into the role in 1986.
Taibi was a flop at Manchester United and he has since claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson begged him to stay when he was about to leave the club.
Manchester United signed Italian shot stopper Massimo Taibi shortly after the great Peter Schmeichel left the club in 1999. The Red Devils paid a princely sum of £4.5m to sign him and he went on to make just four appearances for the club before leaving in the following year.
Sir Alex Ferguson had just won the Champions League title for the first time as a manager when he signed Taibi. Manchester United had to come from behind to score twice in stoppage time and seal a memorable 2-1 win over German team Bayern Munich at the Nou Camp. The win over Bayern made Manchester United European champions for the second time.
