Fleetwood manager Joey Barton believes Sean Dyche can build up his reputation like Sir Alex Ferguson by staying put with Burnley. Dyche has done a credible job to transform the Clarets into a top-half Premier League outfit and Barton feels the former Watford centre-back has the credentials to stay for the long-term.
Burnley were expected to fight a relegation battle during the course of the Premier League campaign but they managed to surprise most of the neutrals by finishing seventh in the standings. As such, they have witnessed a number of their players earning call-ups to the England national side whilst they also have the opportunity to impress in the qualifying stage of the Europa League next term.
The Lancashire outfit have had a relatively quiet summer transfer window where they have not made any movement to pursue new recruits but there may be movement towards the end with a number of Championship players tipped to join the club. Burnley are said to want to re-sign Jay Rodriguez from West Bromwich Albion this summer alongside teammate Craig Dawson but so far, they have not managed to convince the Baggies to lower their £40m valuation for the duo.
